They went out, but they were not prepared for a delay. They were not prepared to endure to the end. They didn't like the words, persevere, hold fast, stand firm, hang on, wait. They had been raised in a "get it now" culture. Over and over God displays His love for those who persevere and "endure to the end."
I rarely give marriage advice, because ... I stink at it... but I do have one key... Stay Married!!
