A weaned child, Psalm 131

 O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty;
Nor do I involve myself in great matters,
Or in things too difficult for me.
Surely I have composed and quieted my soul;
Like a weaned child rests against his mother,
My soul is like a weaned child within me.
O Israel, hope in the Lord
From this time forth and forever.  Psalm 131 NASB

I used to come to those breasts for what they could supply me with, but now I just want to be with the Person. I am weaned from seeking for provision, I just want to be with Him. From this blessed place of being weaned from a utilitarian, (what can I get from you) approach to God, from this place of just leaning upon His breast and hearing His heart beat, I look around me and I proclaim, "Hope in the Lord", in the Person of God, He is Mercy, He is the Everlasting Covenant, He is our Hope, start here and now in Him and go out into eternity! Amen and Amen!

The One Thing

Those who name the name that is above all names cannot, must not, toss aside the need to daily spend time focused on Him.  It is in that focus that we are changed into His likeness.  In beholding His face, our face is changed.  Time is required.  Time has to be carved out.  Did you get alone with Him today?  Did you choose to take time to look into His transforming face?  You must, or you risk shipwreck.  May His love draw us to His presence.  My dear friend calls it, effortless union with the Godhead.  It is a high calling.  Acknowledge your deep, desperate need of His transforming power and seek the One Thing that brings about transformation.
