the truth

a little context before a very important quote
the message had to do with "the truth of our condition"
the truth of the condition of a church that values expediency and programs
and formula over the painful, humbling, embarrassing act of "waiting on the
Lord"
(I have actually heard people try to make that "waiting" out to be a synonym
for "serving/doing".. that is a bunch of crap, look up the strongs' concordance
and just consider the whole of scripture and you will see it is a bunch of crap)
sorry, back to the main point
here is the quote
"You'll never wait unless you have His glory foremost.
There is an itch to do, to be seen, to be heard, if your glory is still hanging around."

it is unfortunately impossible to convey the weight of that statement, but if you
ever wonder why so so so so so so much is lacking from the church, this is one of the root causes,

i'll just add that the strong feeling that the love of God is going to force us into "community" is growing in my spirit, ..community,.... by which i mean 'true church' where we are "in" each others lives in ways that are far far far more close than our, "everybody go back to your own houses" way of living... i hope we can thank God for it when it happens... it is only in that type of a setting where we can ever hope to become a pure spotless bride, NOTHING that calls itself church at this time could ever accomplish that

Good thoughts, full of truth. I'm curious. By 'waiting', do you mean---meditating? listening? being ready? being still? being quiet? All of the above? None of the above?
I'm reminded of the verse "Those who wait on the Lord...." Is this the kind of waiting you're referring to?

waiting for me
means making the effort to silence the self, and to wait on the word, the leading, the vision, that only God has and only God can give
the kind of waiting is best shown in scripture when Jesus is told the news that Lazarus is dying and he continues where he is for a few days more, in the movie "Jesus, Miracle Maker" the little girl, Jairus' daughter is with Jesus when the news comes and she is angry and dissappointed in Jesus because He does not go to Lazarus side immediately... i guess the question is are we willing to endure the "trial" of being misunderstood, while we wait to truly hear from God
