A Safe Place

 Recently when my wife asked the Lord, "What are we supposed to be in this situation?" He replied, "A safe place, where the healing can take place."

I wonder if that is not going to be the answer far more frequently than we know.

In an increasingly hostile world, with principalities and powers that are beginning to see the hand-writing on the wall, safe places are going to be at a premium.

Listening, covering, protecting, providing a "shelter from the storm" where God can speak and be heard, and touch and heal.

We need to be a people whose love and acceptance is well known.

Hospitality is an important gift.

Wage mercy.

Matt. 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Slowly

 Being stuck in time may have been one of the biggest burdens Yeshua had to bear.

Humans don't start out with all the knowledge, love and kindness we will ever have.

It is a process.

It has ups and downs.

It has 3 steps forward, 2 steps back.

Some people are at a distinct disadvantage because of the people who raised them.

We should all give grace to one another as we help each other home, slowly.

One Thing Does Indeed Lead to Another

 If you put the emphasis on, redeeming and turning around this evil age you will be lead down a wrong path.

You will start to see a political solution.

You will place your trust in a person or a party or a plan.

This evil age and this world system are going to be brought to a screeching halt by the wrath of God.

The Day of the Lord has a few purposes.  Removing the principalities and powers over the nations, the gods who have led the nations astray is one of them: crushing rebellion by the sovereign actions of His will is another, destroying pride that finds any solution in man is another.

This world, like our individual lives, needs a death and resurrection, period.  A little remodeling, or anything that could be accomplished through the efforts of man will fall far short.

Read and pray for revelation on this very clear section of scripture, and repent of putting any of your trust in man.

Isaiah 2:12 "For the Lord of hosts has a day

    against all that is proud and lofty,
    against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;
13 against all the cedars of Lebanon,
    lofty and lifted up;
    and against all the oaks of Bashan;
14 against all the lofty mountains,
    and against all the uplifted hills;
15 against every high tower,
    and against every fortified wall;
16 against all the ships of Tarshish,
    and against all the beautiful craft.
17 And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
    and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
    and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
18 And the idols shall utterly pass away.
19 And people shall enter the caves of the rocks
    and the holes of the ground,
from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty,
    when he rises to terrify the earth.

20 In that day mankind will cast away
    their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
    to the moles and to the bats,
21 to enter the caverns of the rocks
    and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty,
    when he rises to terrify the earth.
22 Stop regarding man
    in whose nostrils is breath,
    for of what account is he?"

Mercy Has Many Faces

 It is mercy to shake what can be shaken.

If followers of the Messiah have become drawn away by the "riches" this age has to offer, it is mercy to remove them.

The, intelligent evil, described as principalities and powers in this evil age, have four unchanging strategies.

 Plant questions about the truth that God has revealed.

Distract followers of the Messiah with the lust of the flesh.

Distract followers of the Messiah with the lust of the eyes.

Distract followers of the Messiah with the pride of life.

Humility that trusts God, His heart, His kindness, His faithfulness is key.

Seeing the truth that everything in this evil age is temporary and passing away is key.

Seeing, with gratitude, the great mercy shown to gentiles to be included in the family of His chosen people is key.
