Death You Can Suck It! You are dead to me!

"O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?" 1 Cor. 15:55

Yeshua takes the penalty of death for us.

The weapon that Satan was given by Adam to use against us, the weapon that Satan used to manipulate and threaten us was ripped out of his hands.

And NOW we are the people who love not their lives unto the death.

Death in its many forms is dead to me.

Isaiah 53:10-12

Isaiah 53:10 "Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
    he has put him to grief;
when his soul makes an offering for guilt,
    he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,
    make many to be accounted righteous,
    and he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many,
    and he shall divide the spoil with the strong,
because he poured out his soul to death
    and was numbered with the transgressors;
yet he bore the sin of many,
    and makes intercession for the transgressors."

Resurrection and the overwhelming amount of life, healing and the will of the LORD that will happen as a result of the cross is the center of this section.  We could never list all the benefits that come to us as a result of the cross, but let's try!

Live grateful!

Our Works Don't Work

"A work will never work."  Dane

Our call is to yield to Love, sacrificially, voluntarily yield to Love.

Isaiah 53:7,8,9

Isaiah 53:7,8,9  "He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet He did not open His mouth.
Like a lamb led to the slaughter
and like a sheep silent before her shearers,
He did not open His mouth.
He was taken away because of oppression and judgment;
and who considered His fate?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
He was struck because of my people’s rebellion.
They made His grave with the wicked
and with a rich man at His death,
although He had done no violence
and had not spoken deceitfully."  HCSB

No complaint, no defending of Himself, no calling out of those who said they would be there no matter what, silence, willing silence under the cup of wrath.
Trust when nothing makes sense, when nothing is fair, when the help that you desire does not come.

Merciful God, prepare Your people!

Isaiah 53:4,5,6

“But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God.  But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received.  We all have wandered away like sheep. Each of us has gone his own way. But the Lord has put on him the punishment for all the evil we have done."  Isaiah 53:4-6 GNT and ICB translations.

The cost of grace.

Oh Mighty Father reveal the depth of this to us and draw worship from the depth of our being.  Deep calling to deep.

Comfort to the One Who Needed it Most

Studying through the amazing prophecy of Isaiah 53 it strikes me how much of a comfort these words, penned 700 years before the personal war that took place at the Mount of Olives, would have been to the One who was about to voluntarily lay down His life.  Many times this section although not down playing the very real cost also exalts the reward of His suffering.

"He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days,
and the will of Adonai will succeed by His hand."

"As a result of the anguish of His soul
He will see it and be satisfied by His knowledge."

"The Righteous One, My Servant will make many righteous
    and He will bear their iniquities."

"Therefore I will give Him a portion with the great,
and He will divide the spoil with the mighty—
because He poured out His soul to death"

Grateful to the one true God, who sees the struggles we will go through beforehand and prepares the comfort, strength, grace and mercy we will need for the journey.

Let faith arise!
Let gratitude arise!
Let praise arise!
Let worship arise!

For the Lord is good, His mercies are everlasting!
