Oswald Chambers Christian Depression

"If we were never depressed, we would not be alive— only material things don’t suffer depression. If human beings were not capable of depression, we would have no capacity for happiness and exaltation."   So... who do you think I am quoting here, Oprah?  Dr. Phil?  nope, Oswald Chambers!    http://utmost.org/taking-the-initiative-against-depression/

I confess a hardness towards things and people that I should be soft towards and a softness toward things in myself that I should be hard towards.

Lord change me, make me more loving. Make me more like you.

Romans 9:1-3

I see mercy as the key quality of the end time people of God. They are aware at the very core of their being that they have been shown great mercy and they are about their Father's business demonstrating great mercy. The principalities and powers now cast down from their positions of authority "overcome" but only to find that, just like at the cross, their victory is a hollow one. It redounds to the glory of God. When the people of God tremble at Paul's words in Romans 9:1-3, they are ready for the journey to the end of Chapter 11, and the exulting song of worship to God that leads to the call to "present your bodies as a living sacrifice." Raise up such a body of believers mighty God!

Intercession

As you bow your head in prayer, with no agenda, but God's heart for the people or situations that are placed on your heart... God speaks, you listen, and you join with Him in the most glorious work that a mortal can partake in! "Then in mercy and loving-kindness shall a throne be established, and One shall sit upon it in truth and faithfulness in the tent of David, judging and seeking justice and being swift to do righteousness." AMP Isaiah 16:5

Call to prayer

1 Cor. 4:7  "After all, what makes you so special? What do you have that you didn’t receive as a gift? And if in fact it was a gift, why do you boast as if it weren’t?"    CJB

Scripture battles and 'words' rarely lead anywhere with pre-trib and preterist thinking.  On our end of the spectrum (I read just today) the best characterization is "bizarre" when it comes to all the details of a post-trib fulfillment of prophecy.  I guess I am calling us to spend as much time (or more) praying as we do "battling".  The time is short and the warning is louder, "be not deceived".

Our Father, who loves us, build our faith and trust on the God who is love and vengeance, hide us under the shadow of Your wings where righteousness and peace kiss, give, maintain, and grow our New Covenant promised hearts to be faithful to the glorious place where our strength is gone!  In Jesus' Name and by His Spirit. Amen
